¿What’s Butoh? It is an Eastern drama method created in Japan in the 60’s, breaking away with Kabuki theatre ancient tradition. It encompasses Western anti-theatre framed by German Expressionism which has given way to developing a new aesthetics and personal technique aiming to recover and boost one’s boundless innerself . This is to be attained by means of active meditation and training so as to enhance resistance, muscular tone and relaxation as well as unveiling the hidden paths of our emotional body. Butoh Master Gustavo Collini was trained in Japan by the masterminds and top representatives of such art, i.e. Yoshito Ohno, Kazuo Ohno and Akira Kazai, for over ten years. Besides, he was appointed to deliver Butoh workshops at Asbestos Kan in Tokyo among other reputable places. Also, he completed his training at Jerzy Grotowski Drama Lab in Pontedera, Italy. Currently he is a director, dancer and trainer whose career has spred over Asia, The Americas and Europe.

| CONCEPT Butoh is a tool to be used for everyday life transformation sparked off by self- motivations and boundaries. The impeding reality of human life brings about the awakening of our innermost qualities through a ritualistic dance that would enable us to become aware of our most ingrained habits and mechanisms. This awareness process will lead us to building an alternative means of communication towards creativity and transformation. The workshop will also include group and individual choreographies as well as Ritualistic Improvisation on ancient Eastern tales.
